Market Manager Intern

About Us: We are a 501(c)(3) public charity located in Ash Grove, Missouri. We are dedicated to promoting sustainable farming, local food enterprises, empowering small scale food production, and creating strong community through food. We accomplish this through various means, but the predominate way is through a vibrant local farmers market. We were voted number 1 in the state in 2023, which was our first year of management. We host a farmers market that serves as a hub for community engagement and local food promotion.

Position: Farmers Market Manager Intern

Qualifications:

  • Interest in community leadership, local food enterprise, business development, sustainable farming, artisan or musician marketing, agriculture, organic growing, food hubs, and food supply chains.
  • Preference for candidate in corresponding degree major.
  • Organizational skills, computer work with word, excel, apps, social media and an outgoing personality are essential.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently complete tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Executive Director to organize, plan, and manage the market.
  • Collaborate with vendors, customers, city officials, and other non-profits.
  • Manage social media, generate reports, conduct research, and write grants.
  • Implement and manage food incentive programs and submit for reimbursement.
  • Run events at the market, assist with the Welcome Booth, and handle advertising.
  • Attend board meetings and work with board members as needed.

Hours and Compensation:

  • 6-15 hours per week, part paid, part volunteer.
  • In-person hours: 7:30 AM to 1:00 PM on Saturday mornings until the end of October.
  • Some work can be done remotely in a fast-paced, guided independent environment.
